ირაკლი კობახიძე

GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that by the summer of 2026, travel time on the Tbilisi–Batumi railway line will be reduced by approximately 30 minutes. He made the statement during an event marking the completion of the Georgian Railway modernization project.

According to Kobakhidze, the government is actively working on optimizing railway operations, removing administrative barriers, and digitalizing services. These efforts, he said, will directly contribute to faster and more efficient passenger transportation along one of the country’s busiest routes.

Kobakhidze highlighted that the modernization project represents a significant upgrade for Georgia’s transport infrastructure and strengthens the country’s strategic position in the region.

Kobakhidze thanked all teams involved in completing the modernization effort, noting that their work reflects professionalism and dedication. “Projects like this strengthen the state and pave the way for a better future for Georgia,” he said.
