“Project Christmas Village will not be implemented this year due to a pandemic”, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said.
"We know what a difficult situation is in our country and in the world, we are fighting the pandemic. In order to take care of each other’s health and lives, we decided that Christmas Village could not be implemented this year. This would create a center of attraction, many people would come and a great danger might arise,” said Kakha Kaladze.
According to Tbilisi Mayor, the money allocated for the project will be spent on poor families.
"This project nearly costs 700-800 thousand GEL. So, this sum will be directed to the reserve fund. We will help the families who need our support the most. We will provide them with food products in the days before the New Year,” said Kakha Kaladze.
