Winery "Vellino", located in Sagarejo, is working on expanding of the exporting markets.

As the founder of the winery, Beka Jimsheladze, told BM.GE, since 2019, the winery has been fully exporting its products and is represented in 13 countries, including USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Norway and Germany.

According to him, it is planned to export to South Korea by the end of this year.

"We are actively negotiating with South Korea. We have already sent tasting samples and we plan to export 1200 bottles of wine by the end of the year.

Due to the increased demand, we plan to double the production in 5 years and reach 40,000 bottles. After doubling production, we will stop at this rate to maintain quality. We are an organic production, therefore we do not get the same amount of grapes.

We produce wine from our vineyard, located on 7 ha. This year, we are planning to start preparatory works on a new land plot to grow new vineyards due to the increased demand," Jimsheladze says.

"Vellino" has 2 small wineries, where 3-5 people are employed in total.

According to the founder of the winery, GEL 1.5 million has been invested in the winery so far, and after doubling the production, a total of GEL 2.5 million should be invested.

As for the local market, the winery does not plan to operate in the local market for the next 2-3 years.

"Vellino" appeared on the Georgian market in 2016 and offers seven types of wine to customers. The winery produces 20,000 bottles of wine per year, although "Vellino" plans to double production up to 40, 000 bottles.
