The number of visits from Kazakhstan to Georgia decreased in 1Q2025.
According to official data from the National Tourism Administration, 21,625 visits were made from Kazakhstan during this period, which was 6,249 visits, or 22.4% less than in the same period last year.
Despite the reduced figure, this Central Asian country occupies ninth place in the TOP-15 of countries by international visitors. It has dropped by 2 spots in this ranking compared to last year.
It should be noted that in the years after the pandemic period, visits from Kazakhstan to Georgia have been increasing both quarterly and annually. The statistics for the last 4 years are as follows:
2021 - 66,787 visits;
2022 - 120,494 visits;
2023 - 167,492 visits;
2024 - 178,930 visits;
According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, up to 10 state and private organizations from Georgia are participating in the Almaty International Tourism Exhibition KITF 2025 in Kazakhstan. Within its framework, the Head of the National Tourism Administration Maia Omiadze is holding meetings with representatives of Kazakh airlines, marketing companies, and media outlets.
In parallel with the work done by the state agency to increase the attractiveness of Georgia in Kazakhstan, the “Kazakh-Georgian Economic Union” is issuing a special statement regarding the improper treatment of Kazakh tourists entering the country. According to the business association, cases of Kazakhs being denied entry at the border have become more frequent, and Kazakh tourists entering Georgia are facing inappropriate and offensive treatment in various establishments, including food outlets, financial institutions, and transport.
