In 2025, Georgia’s water supply system covered 72.8% of the population, according to data released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). The findings show continued expansion of utility infrastructure and gradual improvement in access to basic services across the country.
Geostat reports that 28 water supply enterprises operated in Georgia during 2025, delivering 258.6 million cubic meters of water to households, which represents a 6.2% increase compared to the previous year. The total volume in 2024 stood at 243.4 million cubic meters.
The number of people connected to the water supply system reached 2.87 million, up from 2.79 million a year earlier. This represents a 2.9% increase, reflecting gradual expansion of network coverage and urban-rural connectivity improvements.
Progress was also recorded in wastewater infrastructure. In 2025, 52.3% of the population (2.06 million people) were connected to sewage systems, while 41.6% (1.64 million people) had access to wastewater treatment facilities, both showing steady year-on-year growth of around 3%.
