Water Tariff Review Planned for 2026 - Revaz Sokhadze

რევაზ სოხაძე

Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze announced a major reform of Georgia’s water supply company during an interpellation session in Parliament, outlining plans to enhance the company’s operations and efficiency.

“The water supply company is moving to a new stage of development. The Ministry of Infrastructure is starting the reform,” Sokhadze said.

The reform aims to strengthen the company structurally and functionally, align wage policies with the labor market, reinforce regional branches, and involve international specialists to improve operational standards.

A key component of the reform is the implementation of the SCADA system, which will help the company detect and eliminate illegal water consumption, provide technical support, and enable data-driven decision-making.

“We also plan to submit an application for a water tariff review in 2026, with the goal of implementing new tariffs starting in 2027,” the minister added.

According to Sokhadze, these measures are expected to make the company more transparent, efficient, and service-oriented, ultimately benefiting consumers across the country.
