We are optimistic about expanding direct flights from additional Chinese cities - Kvirivishvili

Air China enters the Georgian market with regular flights beginning this autumn. The airline will operate three flights a week between Tbilisi and Urumqi.

Deputy Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili and other officials met with representatives from Air China.

Deputy Minister Kvrivishvili noted that the strategic cooperation agreement between Georgia and China has significantly boosted trade and economic relations. The visa-free regime has further facilitated negotiations with Chinese airlines, expediting Air China’s entry into the Georgian market.

“We have agreed with Air China to enhance Georgia’s visibility in China, aiming to attract more tourists. We are optimistic about expanding direct flights from additional Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai,” Kvrivishvili said.

She emphasized that this new partnership will foster the development of strategic cooperation, trade, and economic ties between the two countries.
