Revaz Vashakidze, managing partner and founder of “Chirina,” stated at the meeting of the Parliamentary Price Commission that he intends to raise the issue of VAT reduction on chicken products if the opportunity arises.
He emphasized that there is room to reduce prices for chicken products, particularly if the VAT is lowered.
Vashakidze highlighted that chicken is a socially and economically essential product, especially for low-income consumers, and welcomed any measures that would reduce production costs, whether through lower taxes, energy costs, or other mechanisms.
The statement came during the first session of a temporary parliamentary commission examining the pricing structure of food, medicines, and fuel, where producers of meat, dairy, and eggs were being heard.
