Hazelnuts and other nuts hold the ninth place with a 1.8%-share in the largest export commodity groups, although the sale of nuts from the country to the international market this year is characterized by a decreasing trend.
According to official statistics from Geostat, during 11M2022, Georgia received USD 89.8 million from the sale of nuts, which was 15.6% lower than the figure of the same period in 2021. As a result, 21,456 tons of nuts were exported from the country in January-November.
After 2019, nut exports were increasing.
During this period, the main export market for hazelnuts and other nuts was the EU countries. 72.2% of the export of nuts came to this market.
