What Commodities Does Georgia Export Abroad?

In January-February 2023 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled USD 914 million, 20.3% higher year-on-year. Share of the domestic exports in total export constituted 54.3% and amounted to USD 497.2 million, 10.6% lower to the same period of 2022, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

As of Geostat, cars are the main exporting commodities of Georgia, the re-export of which amounted to USD 236.8 million, which was 226% more compared to the previous year.

Ranking of the 10 most important export goods of Georgia:

1) Light vehicles (re-export) - USD 236.8 million, an increase of 226% compared to the previous year;
2) Copper ores and concentrates (mainly re-exports) - USD 143 million, a decrease of 8.2% compared to the previous year;
3) Ferroalloys - USD 71.7 million, a decrease of 28.6% compared to the previous year;
4) Natural grape wines - USD 34.5 million, an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous year;
5) Alcoholic beverages - USD 24.1 million, an increase of 37.4% compared to the previous year;
6) Nitrogen fertilizers - USD 21 million, a decrease of 64% compared to the previous year;
7) Passenger cars (for 10 or more passengers) - USD 20 million, an increase of 93.507% compared to the previous year;
8) Gold unprocessed or semi-processed, or in the form of powder - USD 16.3 million, an increase of 21% compared to the previous year;
9) Nuts and other nuts - USD 16.3 million, an increase of 23% compared to the previous year;
10) Cigars, cigarillos and cigarettes made of tobacco or its substitutes - USD 16 million, an increase of 214% compared to the previous year.

In January-February 2023 the share of the top ten trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 82.2%. The top partners were Russia (USD 107.0 million), China (USD 106.1 million) and Türkiye (USD 57.1 million).
