Georgia has recorded a tourism boom in 2025, with over 4.3 million international tourist visits in the first nine months of the year, a record figure, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili attributes this growth to two key factors: stability and the expansion of air traffic.
“According to data for the first three quarters of this year, our country hosted a record number of tourists, which is the result of the right policy and the right action plan, including peace and stability,” said Kvrivishvili. Compared to the same period last year, the number of international tourists rose by 7.9%, while international visitors by 5.6%, and total international travelers by 5.4%, reaching 6.1 million.
Kvrivishvili emphasized that the sustainable and diversified growth of the tourism sector is supported by targeted government policies and marketing efforts, particularly in scheduling direct flights and attracting new airlines. “We’ve had exceptional success in the aviation sector this year. New airlines and destinations have significantly increased tourist flows from our strategic markets, including EU member states such as France and Germany, as well as China, the Gulf countries, and Israel,” she noted.
The minister added that these efforts are expected to deliver further growth by the end of 2025. “As a result of this policy, we will see even more tourists in our country, higher income from tourism, strengthened local businesses, and new employment opportunities,” Kvrivishvili said.
