Croatia’s President Zoran Milanović will visit Georgia from February 11–13, meeting officials including President-elect Mikheil Kavtelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

Trade: Economic relations are modest and mainly import-driven. In 2025, bilateral trade reached a record $22.7 million, up 14% year-on-year. Imports from Croatia totaled $21.8 million, while exports to Croatia were only $852,300.

Top imports include chocolate and cocoa products ($7.3M), baked goods ($2.2M), prefabricated construction materials ($1.4M), women’s clothing ($943 thousand), and animal feed ($753 thousand). Exports to Croatia are minimal, led by nuts ($395 thousand) and plastic transport packaging ($169 thousand).

Investments: Direct Croatian investment in Georgia is very low. FDI flows began in 2017, peaking at $2M in 2018, then dropping to $248 thousand in 2024, and -26.6 thousand in the first nine months of 2025.

Tourism and Remittances: Tourist visits from Croatia are limited, peaking at 2,011 visitors in 2019. In 2025, 1,940 visits were recorded. Remittances from Croatia reached $769 thousand, the highest so far, but still a tiny share (0.02%) of total remittances.

Overall, Georgia–Croatia economic links are small but steadily growing, primarily through imports and modest tourism flows.
