Georgia-Saudi Arabia business forum was opened today in Tbilisi. The Forum was attended by representatives of the Georgian government and business circles.

Before the forum, the Executive Director of the Georgian Business Association, Levan Vepkhvadze, made a statement, noting that if an agreement on free trade between Georgia and Saudi Arabia is signed, it will be a very good signal for investors, as well as for tourism companies.

"This means means that Georgia will become a country even more important for companies from Saudi Arabia in terms of investments," he said.

To the question of whether it is possible to attract investments in the energy sector and whether renewable energies have potential, Levan Vepkhvadze answered:

"If you ask me what we can offer today, this is the transport and logistics sector. This is a sector where it is important to attract investments and introduce modern approaches, which we lack today. The second is energy. On the one hand, we have small projects, but there are large investment projects in the row, where the involvement of local investors may not be sufficient. Here, we need to attract a lot of financial resources and flows, and Saudi Arabia is one of the important sources," he said.
