The packaged medicinal products rank third in the list of largest exporting items to Georgia. During the first five months of the year, Georgia spent USD 265 million 547 thousand to purchase 6 558 tons of medicines. Accordingly, exports to Georgia increased by 22.6% y-o-y.
According to Geostat, packaged medicines account for 4.3% of total exports. Turkey was the main exporting country to Georgia between January and May, the volume increased by 52.1%.
It should be noted that the import of medicines from the main exporting countries has increased in most cases.
