The Georgian government's funding will increase by GEL 1.2 billion in 2027 to a record GEL 32 billion, according to the Finance Ministry’s budget draft. Salaries for 117,000 ministry employees will rise by GEL 316 million to GEL 3.73 billion, while the basic public-sector salary will increase 8% to GEL 1,735.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs will receive the largest allocation at GEL 10.48 billion, up GEL 811.2 million from the 2026 plan. Social protection will account for GEL 7.53 billion, including GEL 5.57 billion for pensions. From January 2027, pensions will rise to GEL 390 for people under 70 and GEL 555 for those aged 70 and over. Healthcare funding will reach GEL 2.35 billion, up by GEL 125.3 million.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will receive GEL 3.30 billion, up by GEL 183.3 million, while the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth will get GEL 2.93 billion, an increase of GEL 225.8 million. Including related infrastructure spending, total education funding will reach GEL 3.5 billion.
The Defence Ministry’s budget will rise to GEL 1.97 billion (+GEL 75 million), while the Interior Ministry will receive GEL 1.68 billion (+GEL 133 million). The Economy Ministry’s allocation will increase by GEL 527.8 million to GEL 1.46 billion, and the Environment and Agriculture Ministry will receive GEL 1.02 billion, up by GEL 206.8 million.
