Why should sanctions be imposed on me? Legitimation is given by the Georgian people, you should understand it well and get it into your brains, if you have brains - we have seen many such resolutions and know very well how such resolutions are adopted, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said about this in connection with the 2 resolutions registered in the European Parliament.
According to his assessment, specific people were paid a certain amount for the adoption of various resolutions, due to which the population had a feeling of injustice.
"Many times we have seen resolutions that were filled with lies, misinformation, hatred, but in the end it was clear where it all came from - specific people were paid and money was made in lobbying. This is how the resolutions were adopted, which is very difficult. When the people of our country see all this, of course, they feel injustice. As for the elections, I have been involved in the processes since 2012 and I do not remember such a peaceful and free election. By the way, the interim and final conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR indicated that the elections were multi-party and the population had the opportunity to make a choice. It was said that the elections were rigged, which is incredible and absurd. As soon as they saw that the political group that represented them did not win, they immediately started to "blacken" the mentioned elections, - said Kakha Kaladze.
As for the question regarding the possible imposition of financial sanctions, the mayor of Tbilisi answers that the parliamentary elections were not rigged and such information is based on lies.
"Why should I be sanctioned? Which election fraud are you talking about? This is a lie, a slander. You spread false information, you are propagandists of lies. "Georgian Dream" won with more than 700 thousand votes. Legitimation is provided by the Georgian people. Thanks to those people, families who came out and stood where our country and its future needed; They voted for tranquility, peace, economic development, European integration in the country. 1,120,000 people supported "Georgian Dream", this is legitimacy. We have seen many such resolutions and statements, which are based on lies, saturated with false information. We know very well how such resolutions are adopted," Kakha Kaladze said.
Two resolutions about Georgia were registered in the European Parliament.
