In October, due to the closure of Kutaisi International Airport, Wizz Air will operate flights from Tbilisi International Airport for 14 days. General Manager of TAV Georgia, Tea Zakaradze, told TV-program Business Morning.
As she noted, TAV Georgia is ready to receive flights of any air company that wishes to fly from Tbilisi and Batumi international airports. Regarding Wizzair and Kutaisi International Airport, he said that in October, the company received a request from the state to temporarily transfer flights.
"Regarding the Wizzair case, we know that the Kutaisi International Airport is closed due to runway repair work. There was a request from the state that if there was an opportunity, we would receive all the flights that operated from Kutaisi International Airport today.
"We have expressed our readiness and we confirm that all flights operating from Kutaisi International Airport can be fulfilled from Tbilisi International Airport within 14 days in October," Zakaradze said.
According to the Union of Airports, the planned infrastructure project will be implemented from October 10 to October 24.
