Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air plans to station its second passenger jet at western Georgia's Kutaisi International Airport in August and resume direct flights from the location to France and Estonia, Georgia’s Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili announced on Tuesday.

Flights to Tallinn will resume starting August 1 and will be carried out twice a week, while flights to Paris will resume on August 4 and will be performed once a week.

Kvrivishvili said the European destinations were"especially important for our tourism and aviation sectors".

“We are working closely with the Hungarian airline to jointly identify the right destinations so that more European tourists will be able to travel to our country", Kvrivishvili said.
