Additional fixed-price flights will be implemented from the Kutaisi International Airport so Georgian football fans can attend the Georgian national football team’s games at the UEFA Euro 2024 Championships in Germany.
Irakli Karkashadze, Director of the United Airports of Georgia, said that upon the instruction of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the United Airports launched negotiations with international and Georgian air companies on the increase of current flight frequency and appointment of charter flights.
Wizz Air will operate special flights from Kutaisi to the German cities hosting Georgian national team games at EURO 2024.
According to the official information, additional flights have been scheduled from Kutaisi to Germany on June 18, 22 and 26, and from Germany to Kutaisi on June 19, 22 and 27. The fixed price for one-side tickets will be EUR 199.
“One part of the instruction is fulfilled. We continue to work intensively with air companies for the appointment of direct flights to the German cities of Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Hamburg so that Georgian citizens have the opportunity to attend the matches of the UEFA 2024 Euro Championships at affordable prices,” Karkashadze said, adding the number of flights to Germany would increase up to 30 in the summer season.
