The Yerevan Municipality has announced plans to significantly expand the city's fleet of environmentally friendly public transport.
According to a new project, the capital of Armenia intends to acquire around 250 electric buses for its community collection point.
Preparatory work for the implementation of this ambitious project is currently underway. The Yerevan Municipality is actively collaborating with the Asian Development Bank to secure funding and technical support for the initiative.
It is worth noting that this is not the city's first attempt to modernize its bus fleet. Back in October of last year, the Yerevan Municipality announced its intention to purchase 250 electric buses.
At that time, it was reported that negotiations had already begun with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regarding the procurement of this batch of vehicles.
