Yerevan’s Mayor, Tigran Avinyan, announced the ongoing development of the capital's public transportation system. On his Facebook page, he revealed that 171 new buses and 15 trolleybuses have already been shipped from China to Yerevan.
Avinyan supported his announcement with a video showing the dispatch of the vehicles. The mayor emphasized that this is part of a long-term strategy to reform the city's transportation system.
"Our sectoral reforms will be ongoing. The initiative is centered on shifting from private cars to a reliable and convenient public transportation system," Avinyan stated in his post.
Earlier, BMG reported that the Armenian capital plans to acquire around 250 electric buses for a community collection point. Preparatory work for implementing this project is currently underway.
