Yerevan is expected to implement a unified ticketing system for public transport. Its updated project will be discussed at the upcoming session of the Elderly council of the Armenian capital, scheduled for March 12.

According to the press service of the Yerevan municipality, under the updated project, for 8800 drams (over 20 dollars) per 30 days, users will have unlimited access to urban transport.

For those preferring long-term solutions, a package for 23,600 drams (about 60 dollars) for 90 days with unlimited rides is available.

Additionally, an annual package for 88,000 drams (about 220 dollars) with the same unlimited transport usage is proposed.

One of the key advantages of the new system is the ability to use various types of public transport when purchasing any package. This means that users can travel around the city, choosing the mode of transport that suits them best without limitations.

Furthermore, tariffs for shorter periods of transport usage are also offered. The cost of a day pass will be 900 drams (2.2 dollars), allowing for 8 rides within 24 hours.

When purchasing a 7-day pass, its cost will be 5000 drams (over 12 dollars).

Moreover, the system provides discounts for certain categories of citizens, including students, as well as social or special population groups.

Yerevan has been undergoing a reform of its public transport system for several years. The first step was the purchase of new buses by the city authorities, and the next stage will be the introduction of a unified ticketing system, which will be integrated with online platforms.

Currently, the fare for buses, minibusses, or metro is 100 drams (approximately 25 cents).
