By the end of the year, around 5,000 farmers in Georgia’s Adjara region will receive agro co-financing vouchers as well as various types of agricultural machinery and equipment, according to officials at an event titled “Supporting Rural and Agricultural Development in Adjara.”
The event was attended by Environment and Agriculture Minister Davit Songulashvili, Head of the Adjara Government Zurab Pataradze, and Adjara Agriculture Minister Denis Salukvadze. Officials highlighted the importance of modernizing agriculture and improving access to financial resources and technology.
Songulashvili said Adjara has strong potential in sectors such as fruit growing, beekeeping, and citrus production, noting that unlocking this potential requires modern technologies, improved skills, and greater financial access. He added that government support programs are aimed at increasing productivity and helping family farms upgrade their production capacity.
The program is expected to support about 5,000 beneficiaries by the end of 2026, providing them with equipment and co-financing to strengthen household farming and improve competitiveness in Georgia’s agricultural sector.
