A certain group of citizens is asking the parliament to open ropeways at the ski resorts. The matter concerns that 5,016 citizens of Georgia are appealing to the Supreme Court.
The petition was registered at the meeting of the Bureau of the Parliament of the 10th convocation and submitted for consideration to the Committee on Sectoral Economics and Economic Policy.
“A petition of 5016 citizens on opening of ropeways at the ski resorts have been submitted," - said the Chairman of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze at the sitting of the Bureau.
However, the government decided to ban the operation of hotels in winter resorts and closed the ropeways under the so-called "point restrictions". For their part, representatives of the tourism industry are demanding lifting of restrictions on winter resorts and opening of ropeways.
