In an exclusive interview with BMG, Mr. David Urbaneja-Furelos, Unit Head for Private Sector Infrastructure Finance in the Caucasus Region at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), revealed that the bank has committed around $2 billion to Armenia since 2005.

This substantial investment includes approximately $1.5 billion in sovereign financing and $500 million in private sector support. Urbaneja-Furelos highlighted ADB's historical focus on energy and transport infrastructure, noting a shift towards supporting digital and technological infrastructure as the region enters the new digital era.

In Georgia, ADB has become one of the most active international financial institutions in the private sector, pioneering green bonds and sustainability-linked bonds while supporting affordable housing and railways.

The bank's strategy emphasizes the critical combination of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors, sustainability, and innovation to bolster private sector development across the Caucasus region.
