“Throughout this time, we have been directly involved in the coordination of these processes, and I would like to commend all the agencies that did their utmost to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster in Telavi,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters.
According to the PM, the Ministries of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Agriculture and the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) were involved in the disaster elimination efforts.
”All these agencies, including local authorities, were actively mobilized to address the aftermath of the natural disaster as quickly as possible, and the public can see the results. Everything must be done in the future to avoid complications, even in the face of a natural disaster of such magnitude. This is the government’s primary task,” he said.
