The signing of a declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia has elevated bilateral relations to a new level, stated Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan on March 25th in Yerevan.
"Our goal is to deepen cooperation and support peace and stability. This declaration is based on our common principles and systems of values, and it expresses our full support for these values," noted Kobakhidze, adding that Armenia and Georgia have a rich history of cooperation and fraternal relations spanning centuries.
Prime minister Kobakhidze also reported that discussions covered the current cooperation between the two countries in various sectors such as politics, transportation, economics, tourism, and others.
"Our partnership will continue to deepen and evolve in all these directions. This is extremely important," he emphasized.
Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan and former Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili signed a declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia on January 26, 2024, in Tbilisi.
According to Georgian official sources, the trade turnover between Georgia and Armenia exceeded $1 billion by the end of 2023. Armenia is the 6th trading partner and the 2nd investment destination for Georgia.
