The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia is holding discussions regarding the opening of direct flights from Yerevan to Los Angeles and New York. This was announced by Deputy Minister Armen Simonyan during a session of the National Assembly.
According to Simonyan, there are currently certain legislative issues that need to be addressed in order to implement this project. "We need to understand how to move forward in this direction, as there are issues related to airline codes, flying through EU airspace, and many other technical aspects that need to be resolved," explained the Deputy Minister.
Despite the existing challenges, Simonyan expressed optimism about the project's prospects, stating, "I believe we will make progress in this direction as well."
In light of recent developments in Armenia’s international air transportation sector, this news is especially relevant. Recently, direct flights from Yerevan to Urumqi, China, and New Delhi, India, were announced.
