On November 13, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Ovakimyan discussed the potential establishment of an Armenian Trade Center in Iran and the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation during a meeting in Tehran.

The discussions took place with Mohammad Ali Dehghani Dehnavi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Mines and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization, as part of the Armenian delegation's working visit.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Economy’s press service, both parties positively evaluated the recent establishment of the Iranian Trade Center in Yerevan.

Special attention was given to implementing the previously signed memorandum of understanding on trade exchange, signed in Yerevan. The participants also expressed readiness to develop new platforms to strengthen trade relations.

Earlier, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced plans to increase trade with Iran to $1 billion in the near term and, eventually, to $3 billion. Recent statistics show positive growth: Armenian exports to Iran grew by 7.7% from January to September, reaching $81.2 million, while imports rose by 2.4%, totaling approximately $450 million.
