Azerbaijan's gas exports to Georgia plummet

Azerbaijan exported approximately 578.8 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia, valued at just over $98.76 million in the first five months of 2024, BMG informs, citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, exports decreased by 1.7 times in volume and 1.9 times in value.

Georgia accounted for 5.8% of Azerbaijan's total gas exports for the reporting period.

In total, Azerbaijan exported more than 9.912 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth just over $3.451 billion in the initial five months of 2024, marking a 5.9 percent increase in volume, and a 51.4 percent decline in value year-on-year.

Azerbaijani gas was exported to six countries, including Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Türkiye, and Georgia.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan exported more than 2.148 billion cubic meters of gas to Georgia worth over $346.6 million, representing a decrease of 16.8% and 0.9%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
