Most road infrastructure works in Bakuriani are expected to be completed by the end of November, allowing the resort to enter the winter season in better conditions than last year, says Eka Orjonikidze, head of the Bakuriani Development Agency.

Speaking to Sakmis Kursi, she said street upgrades and asphalt paving are underway. Overhead utility lines are also being moved underground, which is expected to improve the resort’s appearance.

The large-scale replacement of Bakuriani’s water supply and sewage networks, launched in 2023, is 70–80% complete. The road from Mgzavrebi to Kokhtagora has been fully rehabilitated, with pedestrian paths and drainage infrastructure also installed.

However, parking shortages and traffic congestion remain unresolved. Orjonikidze said vehicle movement is particularly difficult during the peak season, from December 25 to January 20, with congestion also disrupting public transport and prompting visitors to rely on private cars.
