Coffee has become significantly more expensive for Georgia in 2025. According to recent data from Geostat, during the first five months of the year, the country imported 2,993 tons of coffee valued at USD 20.7 million. While this marks a 6% decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2024, the cost per kilogram has surged by 53%, rising from USD 4.5 to USD 6.9.
In January–May 2024, Georgia had imported 3,197.6 tons of coffee worth USD 14.4 million. Despite the lower volume this year, the significantly higher import cost reflects global price pressures and changing supply dynamics.
The list of countries from which Georgia sources its coffee has also shifted. Notably, Switzerland, which was among the Top 10 suppliers last year, has dropped off the list in 2025. It has been replaced by Austria, now occupying the 10th position.

The data shows that Indonesia, Russia, and Vietnam continue to be the top three coffee exporters to Georgia, accounting for the largest shares in both value and volume.
