Construction Volumes in Armenia Increase by 15.7% in the First Half of 2024

According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the country's construction sector saw significant growth in the first half of 2024. The total volume of construction from January to June reached 202 billion 15.5 million drams (approximately $519 million), marking a 15.7% increase compared to the same period last year.

A particularly notable growth was observed in June 2024, with construction volumes reaching 51.3 billion drams (around $120 million), which is 18% higher than in June of the previous year.

The structure of construction in June 2024 was distributed as follows:

  • 48.1% - real estate activities
  • 17.3% - transport sector
  • 8.4% - electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning
  • 5.5% - water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation

Organizations took the leading role in construction financing. The volume of construction financed by them amounted to 25.4 billion drams (approximately $62 million), which is a 12.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
