The Georgian government plans to introduce a unified registry for farm holdings starting July 1, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during the presentation of the “Agro Co-Financing” program. He said the initiative is aimed at improving communication with farmers and making state support more efficient.
Kobakhidze emphasized that the registry is not just a database, but a tool designed to better identify the needs of each farmer. According to him, it will help make government assistance more targeted and speed up the financing of agricultural projects.
He also noted that the system will introduce ongoing monitoring, allowing authorities to track the effectiveness of programs and make timely adjustments where needed.
The Prime Minister stressed that a strong farming sector is essential for rural development and national economic stability, describing the reform as an important step toward strengthening Georgia as a modern agricultural state.
