GEL 32 MLN to Be Spent on Tsageri and Lentekhi Water Supply Projects – Completion Expected by End of 2026

The Georgian government has launched a large-scale infrastructure project to improve water supply systems in the city of Tsageri, the village of Kveda Tsageri, and the town of Lentekhi. The project, valued at over GEL 32 million, is fully funded by the state budget and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, according to the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.

The works are being implemented by the United Water Supply Company under the ministry’s supervision. Upon completion, residents of all three areas will benefit from a 24-hour water supply.

The project in Tsageri and Kveda Tsageri includes: rehabilitation of the existing "Chkhuteli" headwaters, construction of 6 new wells, a new collection reservoir and chlorination facility, installation of a new pump at the pumping station, rehabilitation of two existing reservoirs, installation of a booster-type pumping station for Kveda Tsageri, construction of a 17 km water supply network, a new water main, a SCADA system, and metering infrastructure, individual water metering for residents

In Lentekhi, the town’s population will be supplied with water from three existing head structures using a gravity-fed (self-powered) system. Key components of the project include:

  • Rehabilitation and construction of new reservoirs
  • Installation of chlorination units and booster-type pump aggregates
  • Replacement of outdated pipelines with new ones
  • Development of a 16 km water supply network, SCADA system, and household metering
  • Construction of a reinforced concrete retaining wall in the Lascadura area of Lentekhi municipality

The Ministry emphasizes that the project will significantly improve access to clean and reliable water for local residents and represents a key step toward sustainable infrastructure development in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region.
