Georgia’s Municipal Development Fund has announced a GEL 3.61 million (excluding VAT) tender for the preparation of design and cost-estimation documentation for the restoration of the Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts, part of the Georgian National Museum in Tbilisi.

The project covers both the museum’s historic building, which holds national cultural heritage status, and its second building, according to the State Procurement Agency’s website. The submission period for bids will run from July 18 to July 23.

The selected contractor will be responsible for preparing full architectural and engineering documentation required for future rehabilitation works. The assignment includes restoration concepts, architectural solutions and 3D visualizations, with a total implementation period of 14 months from contract signing.

Evaluation criteria give 80% weight to quality and 20% to price. The project will be fully funded by the state budget under the Municipal Development Fund’s cultural and educational infrastructure development program.

Applicants must demonstrate experience in both cultural heritage restoration and large-scale public or residential projects, including at least one heritage site project and one building exceeding 5,000 square meters completed since 2015. The winning company must also involve specialists in heritage conservation, structural engineering, restoration, and museography.
