Georgia’s Ministry of Education, through the company Educational Resources LLC, has launched a market study for school uniforms ahead of the 2026–2027 academic year. The initiative relates to the procurement of clothing for primary school students, as school uniforms will become mandatory for grades I–VI starting next academic year.
According to the plan, deliveries will be carried out in two stages: at least 30% of the uniforms must be supplied by July 31, 2026, while the remaining quantity is scheduled for delivery by August 20, 2026. The procurement also includes approved designs for the uniforms.
The planned volumes include 292,000 girls’ jackets, 308,000 boys’ jackets, 438,000 girls’ trousers, and 616,000 boys’ trousers, along with 146,000 knee-length skirts and a smaller number of long skirts. The large-scale procurement reflects the nationwide rollout of standardized school attire.
From 2026–2027, school uniforms will be compulsory for students in grades I through VI, marking a significant policy change aimed at standardizing school appearance across public education institutions.
