GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s economic resilience and regional role during his speech at the “Peace and Trust: Shared Goals for a Sustainable Future” forum in Turkmenistan. Despite global economic and geopolitical challenges, he described Georgia as a success story at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.
Kobakhidze highlighted the country’s steady economic growth, noting that between 2021 and 2024, Georgia achieved one of the world’s highest growth rates at 9.8% on average, with GDP per capita more than doubling since 2020. He credited these achievements to a government strategy focused on peace, predictability, and sustainable development.
Kobakhidze also stressed Georgia’s active role in fostering regional cooperation, creating both physical and diplomatic bridges across neighboring countries.
Central to this effort, he noted, is the Middle Corridor linking Asia and Europe. Beyond facilitating trade, Kobakhidze described it as a “corridor of trust” that strengthens economic interdependence and connects people, businesses, and cultures across the continent.
