In 2025, Georgia significantly increased its corn exports, according to official trade statistics. From January to December, the country exported 19,685 tons of corn, generating $6 million in revenue. A year earlier, exports totaled 14,859 tons worth $4.1 million. This reflects a 44.7% increase in export value and a 32.4% rise in volume compared to 2024.
Georgia exported corn to four countries last year, with Iran remaining the dominant market. Shipments to Iran totaled 19,193 tons, earning Georgia $5.6 million. Smaller volumes were exported to:
- Armenia – 458 tons ($318,000)
- Azerbaijan – 13 tons ($93,000)
- Russia – 19 tons ($7,000)
While exports grew, Georgia’s corn imports declined sharply in 2025. According to Geostat, the country imported 36,524 tons of corn worth $14.8 million, down from 57,167 tons valued at $16.7 million in 2024. As a result, imports decreased by 11.2% in value and 36.1% in volume.
Russia remained Georgia’s primary supplier, delivering 34,777 tons worth $8.9 million. Other suppliers included:
- Turkey – 1,065 tons ($3.1 million)
- Hungary – 138 tons ($770,000)
- France – 152 tons ($759,000)
- Switzerland – 53 tons ($321,000)
Additional smaller volumes were imported from Austria, Romania, the United States, South Africa, and Greece.
