Georgia’s Strawberry Imports Decline in 2026, Prices Edge Up Slightly – Statistics

მარწყვი

Georgia’s strawberry imports dropped in the first quarter of 2026, according to data from GeoStat. From January to March, the country imported 504 tons of strawberries worth USD 727,400, compared to 646 tons worth USD 913,000 in the same period last year. Despite the lower volume, the average import price increased slightly by around 2%.

Turkey remains Georgia’s dominant supplier, accounting for nearly the entire import volume. A small amount of strawberries was also imported from Poland this year.

Exports saw an even sharper decline. In Q1 2026, Georgia exported 29 tons of locally produced strawberries worth USD 102,000 - a significant drop from last year’s 122 tons worth USD 225,200. This represents roughly a 50% reduction.

Most of Georgia’s strawberry exports continue to go to Armenia. This year, Armenia accounted for 100% of the exported volume, while last year a small portion was also shipped to Kazakhstan.
