Giorgi Tkhelidze will assume the position of CEO of TBC Bank Georgia (pending regulatory approval). The company has released an official statement announcing management changes within TBC.
According to the statement, TBC Group’s strategic goal is to continue its expansion in both international and Georgian markets and deliver the best possible customer experience. In line with this strategy, the group has implemented several leadership changes.
Vakhtang Butskhrikidze has transitioned from CEO of TBC Bank to the role of CEO of TBC Group, while his former position at the bank will be taken over by Giorgi Tkhelidze.
Giorgi joined TBC Bank in 2014 as Chief Risk Officer, and since 2016 has served as Deputy CEO, overseeing Corporate, Investment, and Wealth Management.
He has over 25 years of international experience in financial services. Prior to joining TBC, he worked in the United Kingdom at Barclays Investment Bank, where he held the position of Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Earlier in his career in Georgia, he served as CEO of the leading insurance company Aldagi.
Giorgi is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program (SEP), holds an MBA from London Business School (LBS), an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Tbilisi State University.
