Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported that 13,600 flights will be implemented this summer based on flight schedules approved by different air companies.
It said that approximately 2,500 flights are scheduled for October from Georgia to European cities, which make up 18% of the total scheduled flights.
The frequency of flights increases to Saudi Arabia, Bahrein, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. A total of 1761 flights will be implemented by three air companies between Georgia and the Russian Federation.
The low-cost Netherlands air company Transavia entered the Georgian aviation market this year and will carry out regular Tbilisi-Amsterdam flights.
After several years of pause, Austrian Airlines resumed the operation of Vienna-Tbilisi-Vienna flights.
In January-April 2024, Georgian airports served 1,946,881 passengers with regular and non-regular flights, which is 31 per cent more than the number of passengers served in the same period of 2023 and 34 per cent more than the number of passengers served in January-April 2019.
