Georgia-Mexico trade turnover has almost doubled in 11M2022. According to official statistics, trade relations between the countries reached USD 11.5 million this year, which was 75.3% higher than the annual turnover of the same period last year.
Exports/imports hit a record high in 2016 (USD 13.8 million) and 2017 (USD 14.6 million). During the next 4 years, it varied from USD 3 to USD 6.5 million.
Despite the fact that exports have a small share in trade turnover, the income from goods sold in Mexico in January-November is 3 times higher than the same period of last year and amounts to USD 3.7 million. Exports in trade with Mexico reached the highest level in 2016 and 2017 (USD 11.7 million).
The list of goods sold in Mexico is quite small. In 11 months, Georgia sold only flying devices (USD 2.6 million) and nuts (USD 1.1 million) from Georgia. In addition, according to official statistics, this year Georgia exported flying devices to Mexico for the first time.
As of Geostat, in 2016 and 2017, the main export goods from Georgia to Mexico were ferroalloys, followed by hazelnuts and other nuts in a smaller volume.
Imports occupy the main place in the trade turnover with Mexico. This year, USD 7.7 million were spent in this direction for the purchase of goods, which was 48.5% higher compared to the last year. The largest imported commodity is sugar.
