After the division of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Irakli Karseladze will continue to work as the Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia - GD PM Irakli Kobakhidze stated at a briefing held today at the government administration.
The budget of the "Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia" amounts to 3.12 billion GEL for 2025. The body employs 306 people in the administration. The two main activities of the department are the development of road infrastructure in the country and the improvement of other infrastructure in the regions.
Irakli Karseladze has been the head of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure since February 22, 2021.
According to the information published on the ministry's website, he has 22 years of working experience, from a researcher position to senior management positions, in leading multinational and local companies, including non-governmental, governmental, and private sectors.
He has experience in managing large infrastructure projects, logistics, state and international procurement, international financial disputes, and administration of the largest state projects.
From April 2018 to the present, he held the position of First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Chairman of the Roads Department.
Since 2012, he has worked as Deputy Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia.
Prior to his appointment as First Deputy Minister and Chairman of the Roads Department, he held the position of Executive Director of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund and its subsidiaries, and was also the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Georgian Co-Investment Fund.
He has graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, majoring in International Economic Relations.
He is fluent in English and Russian.
Irakli Karseladze was born on February 28, 1978, in Kutaisi.
