Vera Kobalia, Former Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and current advisor to the Canadian government declares, that "at this stage, it would be easy to replace exports to Russia".
According to Vera Kobalia, Georgia can produce high-quality products that can be exported to European and American markets.
Another argument, why Vera Kobalia believes that it is easier to replace the exports of Georgian products to Russia today, is the attitude of the European and American partners due to the Russia-Ukraine War.
"I think, it would be easy to replace exports in Russia; If we tell our European and American partners, that we want to replace the Russian market with the American market, everyone would support us and open the markets even more. On the other hand, let's look at Russia's old partners in Central Asia. They were more connected with Russia than with Georgia, but now they realize that the period when there was economic growth in Russia is over. Therefore, if we look at Kazakhstan or any other Central Asian country, everyone is trying to diversify away from Russia", - Vera Kobalia said.
According to her, Georgia had the right direction, but now, when Russia got the weakest, then the country started close relations with Russia.
