Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said he does not expect any major personnel changes in the Georgian government in the near future, adding that the only upcoming appointment will be a new Culture Minister.
Kobakhidze said recent personnel changes were based on the positions and arguments of the heads of the relevant agencies. He cited changes involving the Investigation Service and Revenue Service, saying Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili had presented his position on the matter, which the government took into consideration.
The Prime Minister described the recent increase in personnel rotations as a healthy process. He said government results, including revenue mobilization, reflect the work of the entire government team and stressed that officials can be replaced when a candidate with greater competence is available.
Kobakhidze also addressed the recent change at the State Security Service of Georgia, saying Geka Geladze’s departure was due to “personal reasons.” He added that the government will announce the identity of the new Culture Minister in the near future
