Pensions across Georgia have been increased by GEL 35 starting this year, bringing the total to GEL 350 per month for those under 70 and GEL 450 for individuals aged 70 and over, as previously announced by Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili in his December 10 address to the Parliament.

Khutsishvili added pensioners residing in highland settlements would benefit from a 20 percent supplement, pushing pensions for those under 70 to GEL 420 and for those over 70 to GEL 540.

In addition to the pension adjustments, the Minister highlighted an increase in overall compensation volumes. Allocations for the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs will reach GEL 8.82 billion, an increase of GEL 990.9 million compared to 2024.

Allocations for social protection will exceed GEL 6.35 billion this year, including GEL 4.49 billion for the pension provision. Following the increase in pensions, the upper limit for state compensation and academic scholarships will also increase to GEL 1,035, with those assigned compensation due to deaths of family members receiving GEL 1,235.

Additionally, the budget includes up to GEL 1.63 billion in social assistance for various groups, ensuring a rise in social allowances for disabled individuals under 18 and other disabled categories by GEL 35. Further provisions include a GEL 200 monthly assistance for children from families with a social rating score of up to 120,000.

The budget also has GEL 113 million for social benefits in highland settlements and GEL 95 million for social rehabilitation and child care programmes. Healthcare funding amounts to GEL 1.85 billion, with GEL 1.22 billion designated for the universal healthcare programme.

The programme includes an increase in salaries for primary healthcare personnel, rehabilitation and modernisation of medical facilities with a budget of GEL 100 million, a reform programme for the employment system worth over GEL 112 million, and support for internally displaced persons and migrants, amounting to GEL 268 million.
