Pistachio imports to Georgia saw a sharp increase in the first nine months of 2025. According to official trade data, from January to September, the country imported USD 41.5 million worth of pistachios, marking a 119.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when imports totaled USD 18.9 million.
In terms of volume, Georgia imported 5,142 tons of pistachios during the reporting period - 44.5% more than last year. This indicates a notable rise in the average importing price per ton of pistachios.
The United States remains the dominant supplier, accounting for 67.6% of total imports. Georgia purchased 3,267 tons of American pistachios worth USD 28.1 million. Other key suppliers included Turkey (USD 11.9 million; 1,298 tons), Iran (USD 464,000; 463 tons), Kazakhstan (USD 439,000; 44 tons), and Vietnam (USD 340,000; 39 tons).
Meanwhile, exports of pistachios from Georgia remain minimal - only 1 ton was exported in 2025, generating USD 7,900 in revenue. The sole exporting destination for Georgian pistachios was Canada.
