Edisher Khimshiashvili, General Director of the construction and repair materials company Nova, says the company increased production in the first half of 2025, but this growth has not translated into a rise in financial figures. Speaking on BMGTV, Khimshiashvili offered a detailed assessment of the company’s performance during the first two quarters of the year.

“We have already summarized the first two quarters at Nova. In terms of sales, we’re approximately at the same level as last year, neither growth nor decline. One of the key reasons is the decrease in prices for the imported products we sell. Compared to the same period in 2024, prices have dropped by more than 10% for our core products like metal roofing, pipes, and polyethylene materials. While production volume has increased, this is not reflected in revenue figures,” he explained.

Despite flat financial results, Khimshiashvili described the environment as “stable”, especially given that Nova has seen 10–15% annual growth over the past four years. This year, the company is focusing more on quantitative growth, which he says is an important indicator of market demand.

“We haven’t seen a significant spike in demand for construction and repair materials, but there is a moderate increase of around 5–7% compared to the same period last year,” he added.

Nova currently produces over 500 products, and is also a key importer and distributor in Georgia, employing more than 1,000 people nationwide.

In an interview with BMGTV, Khimshiashvili addressed the challenges of exporting Nova's products, citing logistics-driven production strategy as a major limiting factor.

“Our production is based on products with a high share of logistics in their cost, oversized items that are light in weight but bulky in volume, making them expensive to transport. This gives us a competitive edge locally but makes exports less feasible,” he said.

Despite these constraints, Khimshiashvili noted that Nova is exploring international expansion, pointing to the growing experience and confidence of Georgian manufacturers in entering larger markets.
