The public employment program has more social significance - this is how the country's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Levan Davitashvili evaluates the socially vulnerable employment program, which was launched last year at the Prime Minister's initiative and has employed more than 23,000 socially vulnerable people.
"Public employment has more social significance. Almost all Eastern European countries have implemented such programs. We shared their experience and tried to adapt the positive elements to our market. The main task of the program is to integrate these people into the labor market. During this period, these people get additional income and their social status improves. At the same time, part of this program is that people who will be employed in the private sector will maintain their social status. This is a motivator for people to get employed and receive additional benefits from the private sector.
For people to earn extra income, it is better for their social situation. As for the fact that they are doing work that is invented, it may be so... It took place in every country", - Levan Davitashvili said.
The government program initiated by the Prime Minister of Georgia, provides employment of the socially vulnerable population, which has been in force for 9 months. Within the framework of this program, more than 23,000 jobs have been found throughout the country. According to the government, the salary for full-time employees amounts to GEL 300, while for full part-time ones - GEL 150.
